Desarrollo de una red de internet de las cosas para la comunicación de un robot modular
Sinopsis
El internet de las cosas (internet of things, más conocido como IoT) es una tecnología que permite conectar entre sí a los dispositivos de un espacio geográfico limitado como una casa u organización. Esta tecnología tiene aplicación en el campo de la robótica porque permite inspeccionar y administrar de forma remota las operaciones de dispositivos y es una herramienta clave para suplir las necesidades de la comunicación como la cobertura, la fiabilidad y el tiempo de respuesta. La red de área extensa de baja potencia —una tecnología IoT emergente para la red de comunicaciones en el campo de la robótica— es relevante porque permite comunicar el computador, que contiene el algoritmo para el control del movimiento de un robot, con los módulos de un robot, ya que no se requiere de una alta velocidad de transmisión, es de largo alcance y tiene bajo consumo energético.
Los autores de este libro desarrollaron una red de comunicaciones con dispositivos de IoT para supervisar y coordinar el desplazamiento de un robot de múltiples módulos con el uso de una red de área extensa de baja potencia. El libro presenta los antecedentes de los sistemas de comunicación usados en los robots, los tipos de robots modulares, un análisis de las redes de área extensa de baja potencia, el algoritmo desarrollado para la coordinación y control de los movimientos del robot, la técnica para la comunicación del robot modular con la nube, y la evaluación del sistema de comunicaciones y sus parámetros de calidad de servicio. Uno de los principales aportes del proyecto es la medición y análisis de los parámetros de calidad de servicio en este tipo de red de comunicaciones.
